Senior Leadership Team

Justin Kelly

CEO

Justin is a specialist in Public Relations, Corporate Communications, media and issues management. He has over 20 years' professional experience working in and with the media. Justin has held positions at the highest levels of government, the public sector and private sector. Justin's prominent positions include: Head of Corporate Communications and PR at Qantas Airways, Chief of Staff of Channel Nine News, Senior Producer at A Current Affair and News Director of 2GB. Justin was also the senior media officer with the NSW Premier Morris Iemma, National Operations Manager at The Australian Traffic Network and senior reporter at Radio 2UE. Amongst his many achievements he won the prestigious Walkley Award for excellence in news reporting. Justin holds a Bachelor of Communications and an MBA and has an outstanding network of contacts across the Australian media. Justin currently consults to a range of companies from the ASX Top 200 to start-ups.

Ben Henri

Executive Director

Ben has 17 years experience in the Australian equities market, working on both the buy and sell side. He started his career in upstream oil and gas consulting in 1999, working in competitor intelligence analysis. He then moved into broking, working on the institutional desk of Bell Securities. Ben then began a 14 year career in funds management at one of Australia's first absolute return funds and a well known resource sector investor.

As a former institutional investor, he has an exceptional understanding of the Investor Relations function. He gained experience investing in most different commodities classes and has met with hundreds of individual management teams of listed companies in Australia and internationally. His experience also encompasses attending resource sector and industry conferences as well as company site visits and presentations in Australian, Africa, North America, the Middle East and Asia.

Rod Hinchcliffe

Director

Rod has over 20 years’ experience in investment markets, mainly in Australian equities on both the buy and sell side. He spent 15 years in funds management with one of Australia’s first boutique absolute return funds. He joined the fund from inception as an analyst before becoming Portfolio Manager for the Group’s offshore fund. Prior to this Rod spent 5 years as part of the institutional sales and research desk at Bell Securities.

In his various capacities over the last twenty years, Rod has gained an intimate understanding of the investor relations function within a business. He has attended hundreds of company meetings across most sectors of the market in order to formulate an investment view. While most of his experience was gained with Australian listed companies, he also has many years of experience with listed companies in North America and Europe.

Katrina Goh

Associate Director

With over 12 years of experience in finance and investor relations, Katrina spent over 8 years at Ernst & Young providing assurance and advisory services to financial services clients, including the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, ING Bank, Westpac and UBS Investment Bank. Previously investor relations at ASX20 company Macquarie Group, she holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Sydney and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Jenneth Orantia

Associate Director

A former journalist with more than a decade of experience writing for tier one publications, with extensive PR experience working for some of Australia’s leading PR agencies.

Luke Forrestal

Senior Account Director

Luke is an experienced and well-connected media and communications professional. He has provided expert public relations advice to listed companies of all sizes for the past three years. Prior to that, he was a senior journalist with Fairfax Media for seven years, covering resources for the Australian Financial Review and Business Review Weekly magazine.

Winston Su

Head of Digital

Winston is an experienced strategist and has advised leading international companies and startups on business development, partnership strategy and operations in the digital space.

Prior to joining M+C Partners, he was the Group Head of Digital & Social Media Strategy at QBE Insurance. There, he devised and implemented the digital and social media strategy for QBE Group and Divisions (Europe, North America, Asia Pacific, Latin America).

In 2011 and 2012, he was the Global Publicity and Digital Strategy Lead for Earth Hour and managed the global outreach of the campaign.

Krissie Vitasa

Senior Account Manager

A switched on PR professional with over six years experience working on corporate, enterprise technology and consumer clients. She also had a stint working in house for a global risk management firm and as a radio producer.

Rosa Smith

Account Director

Prior to joining Media & Capital Partners Rosa spent the past 4 years working for a media and investor relations agency in London. Having supported a number of unlisted and listed clients (from small cap AIM listed to FTSE 250 companies), Rosa has gained experience of managing relations with both the media and the investment community. Her clients extended across financial services, industrials, media, telecoms and support services industries and she has implemented media programmes, utilising a number of channels including print, broadcast, online and social media. Rosa graduated in 2008 with a BA (Hons) in Business Management with Law and has completed her Investment Management Certificate (Level 4).

Alexander Liddington-Cox

Account Director

Alex is a former business and political journalist, editor and broadcaster with ten years experience. He covered Australian business before moving to the New York for the 2012 presidential elections and economic recovery, then to the Middle East for the Arab Winter and refugee crisis. He's written for a variety of publications and appeared on Network Ten, ABCTV and ABC Radio.

Susannah Binsted Chapman

Senior Account Manager

An experienced PR professional who has worked across media relations, issues management, social strategy, and content development for some of the country’s biggest technology brands, including Facebook, Airbnb and Schneider Electric.

Kris Towse

Kris has more than five years of Public Relations

Daniel Paperny

Account Manager

Daniel is a seasoned communications professional with formidable experience in Australian media and PR. He has experience working in a variety of newsrooms and media campaigns, representing leading international companies and major technology brands such as Adobe, LinkedIn and Symantec. Daniel is passionate about helping to carve out a narrative for Australia's fintech community. He was formerly a senior journalist for Financial Observer and selfmanagedsuper, reporting on the latest news in financial planning and wealth management.

Lauren Goldgrub

Account Director

A marketing & communications professional from Toronto, Lauren helps high-growth technology startups scale. In addition to her time in-house with both SaaS and marketplace startups, she spent two years at EY and, most recently, led integrated programs for her clients at Weber Shandwick.

Lauren has experience in both the B2B and B2C space, and across industry verticals, including financial services, pharma, real estate, construction, and agriculture.

With a voracious appetite for current events and an early adopter of new technology, Lauren does not discriminate against any medium. She is a lateral thinker who passionately believes in asking better questions to develop robust and creative solutions to complex business problems.

Lauren has a Bachelor of Honours in Psychology and a post-graduate degree in Public Relations.

Aprille Lim

Account Manager

Aprille has a wide mix of experience, working as both a former corporate lawyer and start-up founder, passionate about the start-up world. She has also worked in experiential marketing and has TV broadcast experience as an actor and presenter. She brings this diverse range of experience to her current portfolio of clients in the technology, education and wellness space.

Matthew Lee

Account Manager

Matthew has been involved in the Australian communications sector for three years, having worked across both financial PR and financial journalism. Having assisted in the launch of financial publications New Investor and The Rub, Matthew spent two years contributing to the newsletters covering financial planning, funds management, IPOs, superannuation, SMSFs and insurance, as well as human interest news. Working simultaneously as a PR consultant for Shed Connect, Matthew was responsible for media relations for high profile fund managers Legg Mason Asset Management, Charter Hall Group, Lazard Asset Management and DNR Capital.

Chanell Dormor

CPA qualified professional with over 14 years of diverse experience across accounting, analysis and project management within: FMCG, Tourism, Media and Professional Services.

Chanell has worked as an Analyst for Hamilton Island, Pernod Ricard Pacific, Coca-Cola Amatil and Foxtel. With 2 years within Business Advisory as a Chartered Accountant.

She has led teams in sales analysis, budgeting, financial reporting and system upgrades. Chanell also holds a Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology Sydney.

Ruth Thomas

Account Manager

A former financial services content writer and producer joining the M+C team most recently from Liberty Financial and Network Ten. She has over six years of experience in Australian media and communications and has worked for clients such as Ovarian Cancer Australia, Kmart and The Greens political party, to name a few.

Zena Chamas

Account Manager

Zena is a former cross-platform journalist who has experience across both television and digital reporting roles at channel 10's WIN network, as well fronting the newsroom as the former chief of staff. She has also worked as an independent film producer and documentary maker both overseas and in Australia, as well as working in numerous newsrooms including SBS, ABC, and as a freelancer for Al Jazeera.

Daniel Paproth

Daniel is a former journalist with experience across print, online and social media in various roles with Fairfax Media over the past six years, as well as freelance work with outlets such as The New Daily, Junkee and FasterLouder. He last worked as a content producer with The Weekly Review, on news, sport and lifestyle rounds, before joining M&C Partners.

Madelaine-Rose MacLulich

A graduate of the University of Technology Sydney and former coordinator at Social Diary, Madelaine-Rose has worked in both the corporate and commercial areas of PR, events and project management.

Riley Duke

Account Executive

Riley is a media communications graduate from the University of Sydney who is passionate about content production. He has experience across multiple mediums including radio, podcasting and documentary production.

India Skubel

Account Executive

With a Masters in Communications and PR from the University of Technology Sydney, India’s skills are well balanced from her experience working in the media industry in Germany, and a high-end fashion PR company in Sydney. Additionally, India brings insight from her time working in tech startups as well as a leading technology company.

Hannah Howlett

Senior Account Manager

Hannah has more than five years experience within Investor Relations; beginning her career in London where she supported and promoted the investment case, development and communication strategies for many companies based in the APAC region. More recently she sat within the Corporate Broking team, representing and coordinating Investor Relations programmes for over 150 small & micro cap companies.

Imogen Conyers

Senior Account Manager

Imogen has over seven years media relations and marketing experience in the financial services and technology sectors. She has worked with a range of small, medium and large cap clients. She also has experience in-house at a large asset management firm, running European communications, and worked at a FinTech start-up running marketing and comms.

Natasha Polczynski

Account Coordinator

Currently studying a Bachelor of Media and Communications at the University of New South Wales, Natasha has a passion for consumer and business news. Natasha supports on a broad range of accounts across the firm.

Jonathan Younger

Chairman

Jonathan has over 20 years’ experience working in corporate finance, accounting and investor relations in London and Sydney. In 2001 he founded Australia’s largest investor relations and financial communications firm, eventually employing a team of more than 45 people in Sydney and Perth. He provides strategic advice and counsel on investor relations, financial communication and capital raising and has advised on over 100 equity market transactions including some of the largest in ASX history.

David Greer

Managing Director

David has extensive experience in the Australian equities market on both the sell-side and buy-side. He was a highly rated Research Analyst with Macquarie Securities before moving to the Institutional Sales desk where he was a Director for Macquarie Securities and then RBS. David also worked in funds management as a Portfolio Manager and was a monthly columnist for the Australian Financial Review. Prior to joining Media & Capital Partners, David was CEO of Mercury Consulting, which he developed into one of Australia's pre-eminent boutique investor and media relations firms.

Ari Klinger

Advisory Board

Ari has extensive experience in starting, building and selling Internet-related businesses. He was the co-founder and CEO of iMega, an online media network with over 30 million visitors a month which he sold to a publicly-listed marketing services group in 2006.

In 2008 he co-founded and served as CEO of Online Marketing Group (OMG), which quickly grew to become Australia's largest network of websites and owner of premium domain names. Ari managed the sale of the business to Fairfax Media and now spends his time as a partner at Right Click Capital, helping to find and build great Asia-Pacific-based Internet-related businesses.

Ari has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New South Wales. He is a longstanding member of the Entrepreneurs' Organisation, as well as the Australian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (AVCAL). Ari is a mentor at the Founder Institute (Sydney) and JFDI (Singapore).

The Hon. Morris Iemma

Advisory Board

Morris Iemma was the 40th Premier of New South Wales. Mr Iemma served as a Member of Parliament in the NSW Legislative Assembly for over 17 years from May 1991 until September 2008. He held a number of Ministerial portfolios including Premier, Treasurer, Minister for Health, Minister for Sport and Recreation, Minister for Public Works and Services, Minister for State Development and Minister Assisting the Premier on Citizenship. He has a BEc degree from the University of Sydney and an LLB from the University of Technology, Sydney.

Philip Merryweather

Advisory Board

Philip has over 30 years specialised and diversified business, accounting, finance, corporate & legal expertise and experience in Australia, Asia, North America and Europe. Philip is a seasoned professional global investor, strategic advisor, and company director. He has invested, advised and served as a director on many domestic and international public and private companies. Formerly an international finance partner of Mallesons Stephen Jaques, Philip has had a diversified career encompassing investment banking, private equity, corporate advisory, executive management and has recently established an education foundation. He has lived and worked in Sydney, New York and across the EU, where he is now currently based. Philip's current focus is on ‘big data', and in particular, how this sector is impacting the way in which businesses' understand and potentially exploit their market place.
